Show to celebrate 5th anniversary
The Syracuse Golf Show is preparing
to celebrate its 5th anniversary in 2009 and according to promoter
Tom Tarry the show will celebrate in a big way. “We are proud to announce
that 2007 Re/Max World Long Drive Champion Mike Dobbyns will make an appearance
at the event taking place February 20-22, 2009 at the Convention Center
at Oncenter. If you’ve seen Mike on television then I don’t
have to tell you that he’s a big man. He stands 6’8” tall
and weighs in at 300 pounds. Mike will teach all of us how to hit the ball
like a long drive champion. We expect big crowds for his demonstrations.
Watch for more announcements soon.”
The show has new dates:
this years event takes place February 20-22, 2009. Last years early
January dates conflicted with the PGA Merchandise Show. More announcements
will be made shortly.
5th Anniversary Celebration
Welcome to the Syracuse Golf Show. In 2009
the Syracuse Golf Show turns 14 years old. You may have noticed that
we are celebrating our 5th anniversary in 2009. This 5th anniversary celebration
refers to how long we have owned and operated the show.
Details of our
5th anniversary celebration are still in the works but we do have a few
that we can release at this time. We are very happy to announce that
our show will feature a real golf hole. We are working with a local golf
course that will bring in a signature hole to our event. This is not just
a display but a real hole. We will be conducting a putting contest on the
hole.
In 2009 the Syracuse Golf Show will feature a “19th Hole.” In
an effort to keep our attendees at the show as long as possible we will
build this attraction in conjunction with the host site, the Oncenter. The “19th
hole “ will feature a full bar and a restaurant with seating. Attendees
will be able to order food from a special menu. In addition exhibitors will
be able to order food from “19th hole” wait staff and have that
order delivered!
For 2009 it is our hope to give every attendee free rounds
at Golf courses. If you want to participate in that promotion please
let us know as we will publicize where attendees get these rounds from very
heavily in our pre-event marketing. In the past we have give out free
Golf magazines but we want to do something different in 2009.
We expect
to have every category of Golf included in our show: clubs, apparel,
courses, balls, getaways, accessories, shoes, putters and much more.
Last
year we drew slightly over 8,000 attendees to our show. It is our hope
to reach 10,000 attendees for the first time. We’ve checked the Syracuse University basketball
schedule and they have a game on our Sunday at 2 p.m. Not bad as we begin
to wind down around 2 anyway.
Our floor plan is first come first serve.
We have sold many booths as you read this. Please call us with any questions.
For anyone interested we purchased the Long Island Golf Expo. That 4th
year show takes place on March 13-15, 2009.
We will have a host hotel again
in 2009. In previous years we’ve had a weekend rate as low as $49.
